Featured Project: The Johns Landing Mid-Century Home Staging

What was the name of this home staging project and why?

The sellers updated this mid-century home themselves. It now has such a great appeal that we named it The Johns Landing Mid-Century Home Staging.

In what neighborhood was this home located?

The home is within walking distance of local restaurants and business in Johns Landing and is only a few blocks to beautiful Willamette Park, a 26.85-acre regional waterfront park that even includes an off-leash dog park.

Who was the target buyer?

The buyer for this home could be a single person or couple, possibly with children. Since this home is close to downtown Portland, they may enjoy all the activities that Portland offers. And because it’s just blocks from the river, they may be active and enjoy water sports or outdoor recreation.

Who was the client?

Steve Nassar recommended us to the client. They had recently remodeled the home and wanted to gain the best possible selling price in the least amount of time.

Our home staging, along with Steve’s marketing efforts, has been key to bringing his clients outstanding results in the sale of their properties. They sell quickly and for top market value.

What challenges did you overcome in this mid-century home staging?

This home was simple to stage and a lot of fun. The only challenge was highlighting the best use of the space while also using the right style and size furnishings. The main bedroom was rather small, so the low profile bed and bright, colorful art gave the room a fun vibe but also made it look fresh and spacious.

Staging a small bedroom to look larger

Some of the other bedrooms were down a hallway behind the kitchen. Since they were separate from the main living area, we staged one room as a home office. (Learn these tips for staging a home office space.)

What features were you focused on showcasing?

We focused on the outstanding view the home provides and the mid-century style. Portland loves this mid-century vibe! Our sofa and chairs with low profiles and clean modern lines blended nicely with the home. This lower profile also helped keep the view front and center.

Our accessories and art brought in more of the mid-century style and worked well with the newly updated fireplace.

We used the owner’s dining table, which matched our furnishings and didn’t detract from the expansive views this room provided.

Mid-Century Home Staging with a view

This home sat on a hill with a view for miles. We staged the patio with outdoor seating so buyers could envision themselves relaxing while watching the sunset.

The client was thrilled with the look of our home staging, but even more thrilled with the results. This home received multiple offers over asking price in just a few short days on the market.

We thoroughly enjoyed this mid-century home staging and helping the seller gain maximum selling price in a very short time!
