Every now and then, a project comes along that feels like a perfect match. When Timurland Construction invited us to stage their newly built Lake Grove home, we knew the goal wasn’t to fill a house with furniture. It was to let the finishes, the light, and the spaces breathe — while helping future buyers imagine themselves at home.
We like to give each project a name, and this one quickly became The Modern Lake Oswego Retreat. A name helps us capture the personality of the home and the feeling we want buyers to carry with them. In this case, the mix of sleek modern finishes and a calming natural setting felt like the perfect balance of energy and ease — a true retreat, right in the heart of Lake Oswego.

A Neighborhood Full of Character
The Lake Grove neighborhood is known for its walkable streets, local restaurants, and some of the oldest trees in Lake Oswego. Nestled here, this home offers modern architecture surrounded by nature. That combination — sleek lines with a serene setting — became our staging inspiration.
Who’s the Buyer?
With five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and three levels connected by a private elevator, this home was designed with the active professional family in mind. The main-floor primary suite offers a restful retreat, while the guest quarters, home office, and upstairs bonus room make it easy to host, work, and play under one roof.
These buyers want a home that supports a full and busy life — space to gather, space to retreat, and modern finishes that feel both stylish and livable. Our staging choices needed to help them see those possibilities instantly.
About the Client
Timur of Timurland Construction understands the role staging plays in today’s luxury market. His team builds with incredible attention to detail, from custom finishes to designer textures, and they wanted staging that would meet the home at that same level. The goal wasn’t to fill the house, it was to complement the architecture and let buyers connect emotionally with every space.
The property was listed with Terry Sprague of LUXE/Forbes Global Properties, a top-level agent known for achieving the very best outcomes for his clients.
The Challenges and Choices
The challenge in a home like this isn’t what to add, but what to hold back. Every surface and every finish already had presence. We needed to create warmth and livability without overshadowing the craftsmanship.
In the main living space, we anchored the room with a linen sofa and chairs —subtle enough to let the fireplace and custom built-ins take center stage, but comfortable enough to make the room feel lived in. Accessories in soft, neutral tones helped bridge the interior details with the landscape outside the windows.
The kitchen’s quartz waterfall island was an obvious focal point, so we chose rattan barstools to complement the cabinetry and wide-plank oak floors.
Just beyond, the dining area carried the same clean aesthetic with a simple wood table and linen chairs, creating connection between the spaces without adding clutter.
Upstairs, the bonus room quickly became a favorite. Built-ins and a bar set the stage, while the treetop backdrop gave the space a hideaway feel of its own. We added a low-profile sectional to suggest cozy family evenings without blocking the natural light, letting the room feel both open and welcoming.
The primary suite was designed to feel restful without losing its modern edge. We used layers of soft linens and natural textures to bring warmth, balancing the clean lines of the architecture. Large windows framed the greenery outside, so we kept the palette simple and inviting, allowing the view to become part of the room itself.
In the bathroom, spa-like touches — fluffy towels and understated accessories — highlighted the sleek finishes while adding a sense of ease.
Even the office carried intention. The striking oak slate accent wall instantly set the tone, but by adding a modern desk, leather chair, and black accents, we gave buyers a clear vision of productivity in style. And in one of the most unique touches — the layered plaster wave wall — we let the design shine by choosing art that echoed its movement rather than competing with it.
A True Collaboration
This modern Lake Oswego retreat was a joy from start to finish. The home itself inspired our choices at every turn, and the team at Timurland Construction made the process seamless with their clear communication and shared vision. Staging here wasn’t about transformation; it was about attunement — listening to what the home already offered and making sure buyers could feel it the moment they walked in.
We believe great staging doesn’t just fill a room — it sparks connection.
