Featured Project: The Naturally Contemporary Lake Oswego Home

What did you name this project and why?

We named this home “The Naturally Contemporary Lake Oswego Home.”

What neighborhood is this home in?

The home is centrally located in Lake Oswego, just a few blocks from the downtown area. The buyers will enjoy the short walking distance to the all the local restaurants and shops.

Overall, the open floor plan and modern kitchen make this home livable for everyone in the family)

What is the demographic of the targeted buyer?

The buyer we envisioned for this home is a young family with children. The home is over 3,600 square feet. With 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2  baths and a large family room, there are many possibilities for friends and family to relax and entertain.

Who was the client for this naturally contemporary home?

We worked with the builder of this beautiful home. We have worked him on many projects, all of which resulted in successful sales. For this specific build, he hired us to stage in a way that complemented the architectural style of the home by using a cozy yet contemporary look.

What challenges did you overcome?

We knew we had to define the space between the living area and the dining area, but also keep the buyers’ eye focused on the outdoor view. So buyers immediately noticed the beautiful outdoor landscape, we kept the tabletop accessories to a minimum.

We also wanted to highlight the fireplace area. In order to add more interest to this unique accent wall, we suggested adding a reclaimed wood mantel. Not only did this break up the darkness of the wall, it brought the entire room together and made this feature a beautiful focal point. We staged this area with a sofa and chairs flanking the fireplace. This simple arrangement allowed the wall to be the conversation piece of the room.

What features were you focused on showcasing?

It was important to us to use warm colors and textures so the home felt inviting with a relaxed yet modern feel. We staged the home with earthy tones and natural elements, including a natural, reclaimed wood coffee table in the living area.

We divided the family room into three distinct areas to define how potential buyers could use the space. A large sectional made watching TV or playing video games inviting.

A bistro table set with wine from a nearby wine cellar allowed for intimate conversations. And a desk for homework could keep the entire family together while still allowing them to spend their time differently.

Today’s buyers are shopping for a dedicated work-from-home space, so we staged the bedroom next to the family room as an office.

A large art piece with a branch greets the buyer at the entrance and leads them into the home.

Natural elements were important in this naturally contemporary home staging

We added many other natural elements in our staging. This intentionality helped to meld seamlessly with the contemporary elements of the home. This balanced, inviting look helped feature the thoughtful details already built into the home.

Overall, the open floor plan and modern kitchen make this home livable for everyone in the family, even during Covid while the grownups work from home and the kids dive into distance learning.

We enjoyed staging this well-built, naturally contemporary home. With its fantastic features and high-quality contemporary finishes, we know it won’t stay on the market very long.
